Amy Chan

Amy Chan's paintings portray the new ecosystems being created as a result of suburban expansion, and questions the American attitude towards development and the natural environment. She has exhibited at Wave Hill, Pierogi 2000, The Katonah Museum of Art, Sixspace and The Bronx Museum of Art, and is currently represented by Bernard Toale Gallery in Boston and Irvine Contemporary in Washington, DC. She has recently received the Special Editions Fellowship from the Lower East Side Printshop, along with studio residencies at the Center for Book Arts, The Artists Alliance and the Henry Street Settlement. Chan was born in 1978 in Connecticut. She received her BFA from RISD and currently lives in Richmond, VA.
